Under and Over

Under and Over is made of two separate forms. The white plaster form is a result of experiments done in early 2006. Impressions were made into the interior of the 'wheel' using polystyrene balls which were laid inside the plaster as it was hardening. Scratch marks were cut into the face to contrast with the smooth surface of the rest of the form.

A red angular spear penetrates the space beneath the 'wheel'. Made from MDF, the spear's angles are purposely distorted to exaggerate the sharp, pointed head. Bright red seemed a perfect colour to punctuate the intention of the spear.
